AIDE_OS / Practice
Resettable Linux practice environments and session structure for fundamentals and LFCS-style work — sandboxes, progress files, and written sessions. This is how the systems side stays honest.

Premises lab
Redacted spec sheets for the home lab: VyOS edge, lab LAN vs home LAN, Ubuntu fleet, dual Tailscale tenancy, no inbound WAN ports. Written so a reviewer can see how the network is actually laid out.
Private Family Minecraft Server
A small always-on Minecraft server for my son and a short list of approved friends. I am the only one who approves who gets in. It runs on a used Lenovo ThinkCentre M93p, older small-office hardware that is cheap to keep.
Nerd talk
I chose Paper on that family PC in our family room. It is a Lenovo ThinkCentre M93p running Ubuntu 26.04.1 LTS, not a new machine. The affordability is the point: used hardware still hosts the world. Phones join through Geyser. No fee. Official Minecraft app only. A nightly backup is scheduled. The last run failed because the world was still being written. I use AI to scaffold. I test and own the result.
The kids primarily use it for homework assignments, and really enjoy the 90s themed family entertainment room we've been building together. The process stays up when nobody is in the world.

The Retro House
My home lab. The network-attached TV is the monitor I develop on. I use it to try a conference room, a gaming and media hub, an entertainment center, a classroom display, or digital signage. Games stay in the house.
Nerd talk
Batocera 43.1 is installed on the internal disk of that used small-office PC. The boot screen reads Destroy the Kraken Studios. Pads and an arcade stick are the controls. Movies and music play through Kodi from the family's own library on the home server. Those files are not copied onto the console. I use AI to scaffold. I test and own the result.
SSH + UFW + Tailscale bootstrap
First-hour Ubuntu pattern: OpenSSH, firewall, Tailscale. Auth keys stay out of the repo. Portfolio script, not a product.
Nextcloud Hub installer
Debian/Ubuntu installer script for a Nextcloud hub. Portfolio piece for private file/setup work — the same “make it yours” problem as a family or shop that does not want everything in someone else’s cloud.
